Description  

This WATERMARK training course designed to provide underpinning knowledge and enhance existing skills, includes the following unit standards:

  • Unit standard 25982: Demonstrate knowledge of microbiology and perform pool water calcs.
  • Unit standard 25981:  Manage pool water quality in a basic public pool ( no or low level automation and chlorine only disinfection) and or
  • Unit standard 25980: Manage water quality in a complex public pool (high level of automation, water features and secondary disinfection such as UV)

Who should attend?

Any person currently involved with the operation and or maintenance of  a large public pool . It is preferable that course participants have at least a general  working  knowledge of pool operation or have completed Unit standard 20046.

Course format  and cost

The course is delivered as 2 modules (two days per module)  about 1-2  months apart .  A work book will be completed as evidence of workplace competency  and during the second module participants will have the opportunity to discuss problems and issues they encounter when completing the first part of the work book. This two stage approach allows for  the course participant to be supported and mentored in the workplace.
